I had to share my Goodwill find (in the first picture). My mom would be so proud. No, not the orange, the HP printer. For only ten dinero's (and it came with ink). What a steal! This weekend we were busy scrapin' the house again. We made sure to take coloring breaks and park breaks but we've gotten far enough along to slap primer on which is, shall I say, fantastic.
I began reading My Stroke of Insight by Jill Taylor, a thirty-seven-year-old Harvard-trained brain scientist who experienced a massive stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. It would take her eight years to recover and now her story has become a New York Times bestseller. I first learned of her experience on TED. It's worth watching. I find it fascinating to learn how each of our hemisphere's work together to create our life experience. So far, so good.
And last night I watched The Human Family Tree on the National Geographic channel. Amazing!
"On a single day on a single street, with the DNA of just a couple of hundred random people, National Geographic Channel sets out to trace the ancestral footsteps of all humanity. Narrated by Kevin Bacon, The Human Family Tree travels to one of the most diverse corners of the world -- Queens, N.Y. -- to demonstrate how we all share common ancestors who embarked on very different journeys. Regardless of race, nationality or religion, all of us can trace our ancient origin back to the cradle of humanity, East Africa". (-Nat. Geo.)
Now after reading that, dare tell me you don't want to learn more. You can here and you can even participate. I was giggling with excitement during the entire program. It is true. We are connected, we are all in this together!
Have a happy Monday.
With Love- V.
